Accompaniment
Being an accompanist at the Hallé, within their Choral Division, Mackenzie spends a lot of time accompanying a variety of instruments and ensembles, especially with accompanying playing a large part of his 6 years at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he achieved a Masters with Distinction.

Mackenzie's accompanying career began as a 15 year old in South Wales, playing for the Ebbw Vale Male Choir, where he accompanied Wynne Evans (go compare man) in his first concert with them - nothing like being thrown in at the deep end.

Accompaniment can take the form of simply playing for a function, or offering coaching for exam preparation, or collaboration for a concert.
​
Mackenzie also holds positions with Gatley Choral Society and The Barnby Choir.
